“Pick yourself up” By Fred Astaire

“ Pick Yourself Up” was a very popular song written by Jerome Kern in 1936. Later that year, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers performed this song together in the movie Swing Time

Fred Astaire is an American actor, dancer, singer, choreographer, and television presenter and is the most celebrated dancer of Hollywood’s golden age. At age 4 his parents enrolled  him in dance classes and ended up moving to New York because of his extraordinary talents. Throughout his career, he has starred in 212 musical performances and 133 of those performances contained a full dance routine. 

Fred’s dances are typically a blend of tap and ballroom, but there are little bits of other dance styles thrown in there as well. Overall, Fred Astaire is the most influential dancer in the history of film and will always be remembered for his extraordinary talents.
