Everyone has that perfect world they imagine in their head but they know in reality will never actually exist. In the “Wizard of Oz,” Judy Garland also has this. Could you imagine the movie without her performance of “Over the Rainbow.” Well the executives of MGM wanted to remove the song because they thought that it slowed down the pace of the movie. This performance changed Garland’s life because a year later she won “Best Performance by a Juvenile Actor.” The movie was made around the time of WWII which changes the perspective when you realize this song is actually talking about Jewish people having hope and that their troubles disappear. Everyone can relate to this song because we all have stuff going on in our lives that we wish we could escape from.
